For over 100 years, The Palm Court has been New York City's iconic destination for Afternoon Tea. Inspired by nearby Central Park and its lush greenery, Despont incorporated potted plants, ceiling-high palm trees, trellis detailing, and custom furnishings with cane accents into his design. The room's signature feature is a soaring stained-glass dome reminiscent of the original built in 1907. The Champagne Bar is open for Breakfast, Lite Fare and Cocktail services. Overnight and non-overnight guests are invited to join us daily from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Lite Fare is available until 10 p.m. and Cocktails are available until 11 p.m.
The Champagne Bar began as the Champagne Porch, which was introduced with the hotel’s opening in 1907. The Porch was a seasonal outdoor restaurant with only ten tables, patronized by the likes of Diamond Jim Brady and the Prince of Wales. Today’s Champagne Bar was beautifully renovated in 2014 and is located adjacent to The Plaza’s lobby and Fifth Avenue foyer.
Overlooking Fifth Avenue and The Pulitzer Fountain, The Champagne Bar is a fabulously elegant dining venue. Celebrate by night with the finest champagne, caviar and wines. By day, indulge in freshly baked pastries, light gourmet fare, and specialty coffees.
