Long regarded as Tropical North Queensland’s luxury bolt-hole, Silky Oaks Lodge is ideally located for access to the region’s spectacular natural attractions, including the Daintree Rainforest, Mossman Gorge, the Great Barrier Reef and Cape Tribulation.

With views over the crystal-clear Mossman River and enveloped by the lush rainforest, guests relax in one of forty private treehouses.

The generously inclusive tariff offers tropical breakfast, dinner with inspired daily menu matched with selected premium wines, signature evening drinks’ hour (including canapés), selected in-suite bar, guided rainforest walk, morning yoga class and one return scheduled shuttle to Port Douglas per day.

Following a $20 million refurbishment, the new-look luxury lodge is due to reopen in December 2021, showcasing a comprehensive revitalization of the guest experience to align the lodge with the internationally recognized Baillie Lodges collection.

Forty treehouse-style suites offer a peaceful retreat and views of the Mossman River or the rainforest, styled with contemporary furnishings, commissioned artworks and local timbers to evoke a real sense of the tropical north. All suites feature king beds dressed in natural linens, en-suite bathroom and balcony with hammock ready to sway in the breeze. Other features include climate control, complimentary in-suite bar, wireless internet, music system, premium amenities, safe and telephone. Bathrobes, slippers, hair dryers and backpacks are provided along with daily housekeeping and signature evening turndown service.

Kubirri Lounge Air-conditioned and light-filled, the Kubirri Lounge is a comfortable area in which to relax, read and play board games. The quiet, intimate space is suitable for meetings, conferences and events as well as a private dining option for up to 12 people. Additional cost, must be arranged in advance, minimum 6 guests, maximum 12 guests.Marrdja Pavilion The Marrdja Pavilion is an open-sided pergola located adjacent to the main lodge and overlooking the Mossman River. The airy pavilion is ideal for groups and events for up to 60 people (additional cost) and is also the all-weather location for the complimentary yoga class offered each morning.

Opening out onto the treetops, the tiered Treehouse Restaurant sets the scene for relaxed dining against the heady backdrop of the rainforest and the silky soundtrack of the river mixed with a chorus of birdsong. A generous banquette and comfortable dining spaces offer optimum views to the theatre of river and rainforest playing out beyond. Cuisine at Silky Oaks Lodge is designed to be refreshing and light, ideal fare in tropical temperatures. Contemporary Australian in style, menus have an Asian influence and incorporate traditional indigenous flavors as well as ingredients from the region’s tropical food bowl.

External guests - Silky Oaks Lodge welcomes locals and visitors to the region to the Treehouse Restaurant and offers a set menu dining experience during lunch service.
Treehouse Bar and Jungle Perch

Open to the elements, the Treehouse Bar is a cool setting in which to relax and enjoy a refreshing beverage and casual lunch during the day. By night, it's the venue for lounging with an evening drink and sharing conversations of the day's adventures. Nearby, the Jungle Perch cantilivers out into the rainforest canopy to float over the river below, offering an intimate setting for a celebratory drink be it a cool cocktail, glass of Australian wine, or locally sourced craft beer.

Directions

The closest airport to Silky Oaks Lodge is Cairns International Airport (CNS), which has direct daily commercial flights to and from most major Australian cities and main touring gateways.  The lodge is 48 miles and a 60 minute drive from Cairns Airport. Many guests opt to self-drive and park at the lodge, however private vehicle transfers between Cairns Airport or hotels and Silky Oaks Lodge can be pre-arranged if required. Scenic flights via helicopter are also available between Cairns International Airport and Silky Oaks Lodge’s own helipad.

From Cairns International Airport:

Turn right onto the Captain Cook Highway and follow this past Mossman.
About 1/2 of a mile, past Mossman, turn left onto Syndicate Road and then left again onto Finlayvale Road.
Silky Oaks Lodge is located at the end of Finlayvale Road.
