Grossmünster Church

The twin spires of the Grossmünster are a distinctive feature of Zurich’s cityscape. It is approximately 2 km away from the hotel.

Fraumünster Church

The Fraumünster is well worth a visit, particularly to see the stained-glass windows by Marc Chagall. Distance from the hotel is approx. 0.7 km

Kunsthaus

The Kunsthaus art museum houses an extensive collection of works by Picasso, Degas, Chagall and Diego Giacometti, as well as a collection documenting the Dada art movement. Distance to the hotel is 1.7 km

Art Galleries in Zurich

A typical feature of Zurich is its high density of art galleries; along the Rämistrasse galleries are just a few minutes walk apart, while in the former grounds of the Löwenbrau brewery, they are even door by door. The reopening of the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich’s Old Town - after being closed for 90 years - marked the beginning of a brand new Dada era. The "Dadahaus" with exhibitions, events and bar, as well as its small specialist lending library, is open to the public. In this vibrant cultural center, bridges are built between Dada and modern social and cultural trends. About 14 out of the 50 museums in Zurich are devoted to art.

Lake Zurich

Sunbathing and swimming in Zurich Zurich offers plenty of nice opportunities for a swim in the lake of Zurich or River Limmat. The water is among the cleanest in Europe and is perfect for swimming and sunbathing. There is the possibility of just jumping into the lake almost anywhere, but the city also has official outdoor swimming baths, many of them with facilities such as cloakrooms, toilets and kiosks. Many of them have an entrance fee, but the ones on the river are usually free. In the evening, many of them turn into lively open-air bars.

The Perfect Weekend in Zurich

The 'Zopf' is a braided white bread that is often eaten on Sundays for breakfast and 'Tirggel' are Christmas biscuits made of honey, flour, sugar and spices. Tips for art and culture Visit the picturesque "Schipfe," one of Zurich's oldest neighbourhoods and a wonderful place to explore. The Rietberg Museum has an excellent international art exhibition and offers a wide range of events.
