It is a simple combination that enhances the peacefulness experienced as you sink into the inviting chairs that gaze out onto the restorative beauty of the scene below. The bay view is a changing landscape as the ebbing tide comes and goes and the light shifts gently with the breeze over the bay. The falls view rooms enjoy a display of natural magnificence as the sheen river crashes headlong over the ancient granite rocks.
Custom made beds of generous regal proportions ensure your comfort with fresh, soft linen. There is an attention to detail within the rooms that echoes the dedication of the staff, the collection of carefully chosen books by the librarian, the perfectly placed arrangements of the room, the little requests remembered and recalled from your last visit.
The luxuriously styled furnishings and the gentle sound of the welcoming music create a sense of entering a perfect place, a haven that will be hard to leave.
The deluxe rooms at Sheen Falls Lodge are all spacious and well appointed with beautiful views overlooking the Sheen Waterfalls. The large proportions of the deluxe rooms, at just under 500 square feet (46 square metres), allow one to ease into the experience of staying at Sheen Falls Lodge. The colours of each room reflect the tones of the surrounding countryside. Sink into one of the chairs beside the windows and ponder on the changing landscape before your eyes.
Superior Deluxe Rooms are larger and have the best views of the waterfalls.Generous in space, the newly refurbished Estate Rooms at Sheen Falls Lodge offer a more expansive living space with the same comforts and features as the deluxe rooms.
The Estate Rooms now offer a new freshness in the style of furnishings and fabrics whilst maintaining the soft, gentle colours for which we are renowned.
These open plan rooms are extremely spacious, with approximately 660 square feet (61 square metres) for you and your guests to enjoy.
The Estate rooms offer the opportunity to enjoy a larger living space or to bring your young family with you as they can be accommodated perfectly with built in wall beds.
The signature suites at the five star Sheen Falls Lodge are exceptional, they are rooms of which we at the hotel are particularly proud. They offer a unique experience in a stunning setting.
There are some suites which are particularly special, guests who have stayed there before request them time and again. Each has a truly unique feature which ensures its status as a signature suite of Sheen Falls Lodge.
The suites are set apart as extraordinary in some special way. It may be an unusual layout and size, or a particularly breathtaking view, perhaps it is something more, a feeling at a deeper, more subliminal level that impresses the location upon you and leaves you feeling totally rejuvenated. As we are especially proud of each of these four outstanding rooms, we have simply named them our signature suites.
The Presidential Suite is truly exceptional. It is the epitome of comfort with 1,350 square feet (125 square metres) of carefully designed space. Architecturally it is stunning. The octagonal shaped drawing room with it's twenty foot high ceiling leading up to an oculis is a unique space to be enjoyed.
Large windows cover half the wall space in the room looking out on panoramic views including Kenmare Bay in the distance, the Sheen river flowing over the cascading waterfalls and the old 16th century stone bridge. A white limestone fireplace burns wood cut from the coppicing of the surrounding woodlands, its colour contrasting with the dark Jatoba wood floor.
The private bar area is stylishly incorporated into the room, the perfect location to entertain or to enjoy the elegant grandeur of the room as you sip a cocktail and listen to gentle music on the Bang & Olufsen surround system.
The large bedroom window flows out onto an impressive balcony, which overlooks a pond beside the private stone gated entrance. In the distance the horses laze in the meadow. A separate entrance allows for ease of access and private parking. The 'Scarlet Wonder' Rhododendron leads you on a path through the gardens, perfectly at home with the other semi tropical trees and plants that play host to the surrounding landscape.
The suite is meticulously furnished with the finest of silk fabrics and the style of furniture offers a contemporary feel that echoes the art deco period and the 1940's. Every aspect of the suite has been personally commissioned from crafts people from all over Ireland and Europe. A large, marble bathroom has an inviting two person Jacuzzi as part of its elaborate amenities.
These suites can be adapted seamlessly for alternative uses such as a business suite or to accommodate a working space for smaller meetings or perhaps client cocktails before dinner. The hotel suites can also work perfectly as family rooms some can be ideally arranged to allow you to travel with your family. The drawing room can be changed to a second bedroom on turndown giving you the opportunity to enjoy the comfort of having them close by and yet the peace and privacy of a separate room. Some of the suites are purposely designed in this way to also interconnect with a separate superior deluxe room to allow for extra options.
Swing open the French doors from the lounge area and step out onto your own private terrace. Across the garden, patchworked with heather, is the tumbling waterfall, the riverbanks lined with ancient oaks. Sit on the terrace sunloungers and sip Champagne, listening to the burble of the water and watching for wildlife.
Inside, the suite is open plan – a bright and flowing space. Bespoke furnishings from local suppliers adorn the room, designed to evoke the natural beauty for which Kenmare is famed. With a king bed and discrete dressing room, the Oscars Suite is the perfect place for you and your partner to relax, luxuriate and simply spend time together.

Clubby, chic and oh so comfortable, the sunny Sheen Lounge is the ultimate room for relaxation. You’ll find deep-filed sofas, luxurious armchairs and a roaring log fire to curl up in front of.
Bring a newspaper. Pick out a book. Come and sip coffee with your favorite person in the world. Settle in, admire the Irish art and drink up the mesmerizing riverside views.
Order a steak. Or a drink. Or neither. This is the heart of the lodge. Kick back and make yourself at home!
Bistro menu is served daily from 12.30pm to 9.30pm.
The Cocktail Bar offers a warm, club-like atmosphere with its dark wood and leather chairs. Try a famous 30 year old Irish whiskey or the latest cocktail. Mull over the selection of fine cigars in the humidor including some of the best Cubans and ease into the stylish atmosphere of this smart yet comfortable room.
Open for dinner to both residents and non-residents, our focus at The Falls Restaurant is on creating exquisite menus using seasonal, local ingredients. Seafood plucked fresh from the North Atlantic Ocean, artisan cheeses from across Ireland and organic vegetables grown on the nearby fields and farmland.
Settle down for a family dinner, or a romantic meal by candlelight, with wine pairings from one of the most extensive cellars in Ireland. Savour each bite of our traditional dishes with a modern twist, for which we’ve earned two AA Rosettes. All this with a warm and welcoming service.
The atmosphere is relaxed; there’s always music beneath the murmur of voices and the ring of wine glasses, either floating softly from the stereo or played by our resident pianist. Candles flicker on the tables, and the high windows look out over the floodlit waterfall.
We happily cater for children and all dietary requirements; please do let us know of your needs in advance so that we can whip up something special. The dress code is smart casual, to match the restaurant’s informal air.
