Set on over 6 acres in the heart of Santa Ynez valley wine country, Mattei’s Tavern is the center of Los Olivos, a bucolic town flanked by vineyards and imbued with California history. With buildings dating back to 1886 and new spaces to compliment the original architecture, this historic site features 62 guest rooms and cottages. The reimagined historic Tavern restaurant, as well as an original Saloon Bar, a nod to history with Gin’s Tap Bar, Felix Feed & Coffee, a pool with pool bar and Cottage Spa. A signature Auberge Spa, Lavender Barn will opening early 2024. The property is also walkable to downtown Los Olivos.

The perfect roadside bar, updated slightly, but still recognizable as Mattei’s most authentic hangout. With local craft beers, historically inspired cocktails, a thoughtfully curated wine list and a menu of bar snacks from bite sized to hearty.
Felix Feed & Coffee - coffee shop

A Santa Ynez Valley take on the classic European coffee bar. With expert baristas, fresh baked goods and breads, take away bites and light menu options to be enjoyed in the Wicker Room, this is a bucolic offering focused on breakfast and mid-day options.
Gin's Tap Bar

Capturing the pioneering spirit of California, the food is innovative, playful and a touch unexpected with a nod to Gin, Mattei’s long time chef of Chinese descent.
The Shed

Tucked away amongst the olive trees for which the town is named, The Olive Shed is the ultimate wine country pool – sophisticated in spirit but ultimately relaxed with excellent service. A quiet respite at the center of the property, the menus are fresh and approachable; everything you’d want to eat poolside is served.
