My fabulous days in Budapest

Day 1
We’ll start our visit to Budapest by first seeing the sights on the Buda side of the city. Dominating the western bank of the Danube River, Buda Castle is a great place to start your visit. Easily one of the most popular places to visit in Budapest, the iconic Fisherman’s Bastion is next up. Just opposite the Fisherman’s Bastion stands one of Budapest’s most beautiful churches, the Matthias Church. Lunch at Felix Kitchen & Bar next to Várkert Bazár. Leaving Buda Castle area but sticking to the same side of the river, head for Gellert Hill just to the south. A network of walking paths lead you through peaceful parkland to the historic citadel resting at the top of the hill. In the evening, enjoy a wide variety of dinner at the Spago by Wolfgang Puck of Matild Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Budapest, before you set off for an opera performance at the fully renovated Hungarian State Opera House.

Day 2
In the morning, start your day in a great way with a tour of the Hungarian Parliament Building. Follow the east bank of the River Danube to reach Shoes on the Danube Promenade. A short walk inland from the Parliament and memorial is the St. Stephen’s Basilica. If you are visiting in December, make sure to stop by, as one of the best Budapest Christmas markets is in front of St. Stephen’s Basilica. It might seem strange to recommend a metro ride as a don’t-miss activity, but there’s a reason the Metro 1 line is on this Budapest itinerary. Take a ride on this subway train heritage-listed by UNESCO. Hop off the Metro 1 at Heroes Square. This is one of the city’s major squares thanks to its symbolic collection of monuments. The city’s famed thermal baths, one of Budapest’s best activities, are up next. Széchenyi Thermal Baths, found not far from Heroes Square, is the city’s most well-known venue. Finishing the day in Matild Café & Cabaret and enjoy the magnificent revue show with dinner.

Day 3
Markets are always a great place to get a feel for local life in a city, and the Central Market Hall of Budapest is no exception. You’ll find a broad range of items for sale, particularly fresh produce, and souvenirs. Another impressive place of worship in the heart of Budapest is the Dohány Street Synagogue. In the afternoon, visit the most elegant shops in Budapest are located on Andrassy Avenue. This is where you should go if you are interested in world-famous fashion brands. On the avenue there are such shops as Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Ermenegildo Zegna, YSL, Giorgio Armani, and some others. End the day with a refreshing cocktail at The Duchess Rooftop Bar and watch the lights of the city with the 360° view.

150th Birthday of Budapest

As Budapest reaches 150th years through the unification of Pest, Buda, and Óbuda, we take pride in our contribution to the city's history since 1901, embodied in the creation of our grand palace. The building of our hotel stands as a living representation of Budapest's resilient and dynamic heritage.
