This was our first cruise and being novices we did not know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised that we loved every aspect of the cruise. The staff and all workers made us feel special as they went above and beyond expectations. The sailing was as smooth as one could have imagined. The whole ship is fantastic from restaurants, decor, cabins, pools, theater, bars, it truly was a magical 7 days. We thought it was going to be hectic to exit and board ship at ports. It was as easy as it could be, we were usually on and off the ship in a matter of 2 minutes once we got to deck of entry and exit. I also learned a lesson as many people told me that most people gain 1 pound per day on a cruise ship. They were not wrong as I did. But lesson learned, next cruise I will be a bit more disciplined in food choices. The selection and variety of food made it hard to turn down.

Staff not as friendly as in some of our past cruises, meals at times mediocre, though the specialty Italian restaurant was superb. Spa staff very pushy in selling their products (I understand that they work on commissions).

Even though they ran out of my husband’s favorite beer, they scoured the ship and delivered the last 13 to our state room. The staff truly cares to make it a great experience. We enjoyed the food and endless entertainment on board the Sky Princess and highly recommend.

Take Five Jazz Lounge not a replacement for Crooners, an opinion echoed by many of the passengers. As I observed, it was also not fully attended. It seemed to be more of a "lead-in" to the Casino which was unusually huge. huge. Lots of minor glitches existed, like breakfast trays delivered with wrong items daily. Because of some transatlantic delay, I stood in line an hour and a half to board, even though arriving at 11:10 AM for boarding. My Disembarkation time was an hour before scheduled time, causing confusion with the porter locating my bag. Etc, etc, etc.

The crew couldn’t have bern nicer and the embarkation and debarkation were very smooth. Highlight for us was the jazz club for sure. That was terrific. Weather wasn’t great part of the time which impacted the itinerary.

Great ship and you see the crew constantly cleaning. Food was good and a good selection. I was on the ship for three weeks and enjoyed it.

The small changes were very noticeable on this cruise. I missed not having a Library, I missed the chocolates on the pillow at night I was surprised that the blue princess bags were not given out for excursions. Buffet was very good. I found the pastries very uninspiring, although desserts in dining room were good. The medallion app, while a great idea, needs to be made more user friendly with no interruptions of service during the day. Wait staff seemed inexperienced at times, still trying hard. Movies under the stars was not very current except for Top Gun. The biggest problem was the volume of the music in common areas. There were lovely common lounges all around the piazza but impossible to sit with your friends to have a conversation with the music playing in the piazza. Music should be played for the enjoyment of all. Shops on board were OK but should be larger with more general stock, too much makeup and perfume choices. Missed the “costume” jewelry items, Pandora shop a poor replacement.

The Sky is a beautiful ship, took a little while to find everything. I think mainly cause we are new to cruising. The entire staff was fun and entertaining to interact with, and they made sure we had everything we wanted.

We missed the library and the more intimate bars that we had on other Princess ships. Sitting in the Crown Bar is like sitting in a hallway. But the service was always good, and friendly. We were never notified that we had been gifted with a champaign breakfast, and we did not receive our invitation to the Captain's reception. But I do believe we received every notification of a spa event or a jewelry sale. We had a great table in the Espadrille Dining room. The ship loused up our dining reservation so they dedicated a table for our group of seven in the "Any-time" dining room. This worked well for us. Our waiters were outstanding. The medallion worked well after ironing out all the kinks, and we were able to keep track of our group. We didn't use all the bells and whistles. But it is nice to be able to check out the events on your phone and pull up the running bill. We had one day of rough seas, but the ship seemed to handle it well. The entertainment was hit or miss. I didn't like the Rock Opera, but I'm not a rock fan. The other big show was cancelled for some reason. We saw the magician which was fine. Missed the comedian. I don't think I would choose this ship again.

We thoroughly enjoyed a great cruise. Weather was perfect. Ports were nice. Gorgeous new ship and well appointed. Friendly and professional staff. Topnotch entertainment with talented singers and dancers. Delicious and plentiful food selections and drinks. Fantastic and friendly Captain.
