I could not have been happier with my first river cruise on the AmaKristina from Lyon to Arles. I enjoyed every minute, and have already recommended Ama Waterways to friends and family. As a solo traveler, I met the most amazing people aboard the AmaKristina. The ship is absolutely beautiful, and well designed. Every comfort has been taken into consideration in terms of the staterooms. Georgiana was the person who attended to the staterooms on our deck, and she did a tremendous job. She is friendly, respectful, and excellent at her job. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating, making sure that everyone's needs were met. My expectations were exceeded on this trip!

Every aspect of the ship and crew were excellent. Cruise Manager was excellent as well.

SEPTEMBER

We enjoyed our cruise very much. The pre-cruise to Barcelona was great. AMA met us at the airport and took care of all logistics. The food was very good. We enjoyed all the excursions. The staff was very responsive and accommodating. The weather was great.

OCTOBER

I can’t convey how wonderful this boat and crew are. Everything from the food, the cabin, the crew, the excursions were top notch. Every meal is a delicious adventure. They are not doing buffets any more, which is a plus for me. So you’re able to order from a menu with a large array of choices for each meal. The cabin was so clean and well thought out, even to a motion activated blue night light in the bathroom. The crew gets to know you and your preferences, and is always eager to help. And the excursions were so well done, with local guides, and modern new transportation in deluxe buses if needed for areas that were further away from the ship. They even welcome you back to the ship with juice and fresh moistened towel to clean your hands. Everyone on the ship is vaccinated, and wears masks in common areas. And they do temperature checks on the way in to breakfast. Over all I felt much safer on the boat than I do walking around Boise. I would do another river cruise with Ama in a heartbeat.

Wonderful ship. Cannot complement it enough. Layout easily navigated, decor perfect. and the crew was outstanding. Hope to take another river cruise on this ship.

<div>As for entertainment out of the 7 nights of the cruise there where only 2 nights of real entertainment. One night there was a trio playing classical music(very good) and the other was a singer and someone playing the accordion(not so good). All the othe nights it was the ships DJ playing music and the same five couples dancing.</div>

The rooms are comfortable (I had an AA cabin, but I saw others) and the housekeeping was perfect every day with twice daily service. The servers were always pleasant and accommodating, and the hotel manager and cruise director were always around and accessible. (Do they ever sleep?) We enjoyed the entertainment and the piano player who was there so much of the time. We were kept busy with tours at the ports, although we skipped one or two because it was just so pleasant to relax and watch as we cruised. Everything was amazingly organized and punctual. Boarding and disembarking were smooth and easy.

Just got back and my wife and I couldn't be happier that we chose this cruise. Everything we expected and more. We look forward to booking another Ama cruise in the near future, they are truly first class.

APRIL

nice to have different activity level for the tours--should mention this more in marketing material. We will probably never take another large ocean ship again as we had such a great time on this river cruise. The crew is fantastic, food terrific, tours excellent. We didn't miss the nightly shows often on the ocean cruisers as we had so much to do each day. And the local entertainment each night was just fine.
