SHIP OVERVIEW

Beyla - Farm Servant to Norse God Freyr. Beyla is a servant to Freyr, Norse god of virility. She looks after his realm with her husband Byggvir. Because of her association with Freyr’s farm, Beyla personifies agriculture and the seeds from which crops grow. Byggvir shares the root of his name with Bygg, the Old Norse word for barley. True to this origin, he is a mill grinder and bread maker. Beyla’s name may be tied to cows, beans or bees. Together, they represent the enduring spirit of Scandinavia’s bounty, an ideal pair to serve a virile god.

JULY

Star Star Star Star Star

PROS

Clean ship, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food and drinks

CONS

Too much time on buses, lenghthy and sometimes dull tours, lack of evening entertainment

RECOMMENDED

No

We enjoyed our time on the boat. Our flights going were cancelled so we missed most of our stay in Prague. Our flights leaving were also cancelled so we had to pay for an extra hotel night in Berlin. Our travel agent was able to get us flights on Lufthansa the following day. We connected in Frankfurt, and was delayed quite a long time. The Lufthansa agents at the gate were disorganized and disrespectful to the passengers. We have flown Lufthansa in the past and was very satisfied, however, on this flight, the services were substandard.

PROS

Lovely, modern decor. Comfortable staterooms. Amazing use of storage space---unique for riverboats.

CONS

No elevator. Long walk to stateroom.

RECOMMENDED

Yes

This is a stunning riverboat. It is only two years old, so everything is state of the art and shiny new. Staff was exceptional. Dining room experiences were excellent. Loved that they provided casual eating opportunities in the lounge for breakfast and lunch.
