Really disappointing trip

MARCH

Star Star Star Star Star

PROS

Staff were great.

CONS

They did not complete our trip.

RECOMMENDED

No

We were promised a trip to Northern Norway and the Arctic circle and they changed our route almost as we left the first port. This has happened more than 80% of the time. So it was just marketing, not a real plan. In addition, the food was mediocre, and there were surprisingly few interesting activities onboard.

PROS

staff is really, really nice

CONS

on day two the itineray was significantly changed until the last two ports. Showers are too small and I'm not overweight.

RECOMMENDED

No

We did not get to do the ports that were scheduled near the Arctic Circle. They informed us on day two the seas were too rough. Passengers started checking online and learned the trip hadn't gone as advertised since the ship had a significant malfunction on its maiden voyage and every since the itineraries were changed. But Viking didn't let us know til we were already there. Then the excursions were lame at best and Viking kept telling us what a wonderful job they were doing arranging tours "at the last minute". Food is good but breakfast/lunch in the World Cafe are same day after day.
