American Eagle

SHIP OVERVIEW

American Eagle offers the best qualities of expedition adventure cruising with the refinement, luxury, stability, and land proximity of river cruising. The design of the ship allows rare access into small ports and the ability to travel on almost any river or waterway in the U.S. With land never out of sight, American Eagle is a practical alternative to ocean expeditions, allowing for more time to explore each port in depth. American Eagle evokes a sense of pride and appreciation for U.S. history. The choice of color palettes, furnishings, and artwork will reflect the culture of New England, Chesapeake Bay, and the Southeast.

PROS

All Inclusive

CONS

Not enough vegetarian and special needs diet options

RECOMMENDED

Yes

We loved the cruise. It exceeded our every expectation. The cabins and bathrooms were spacious with lots of storage. The lounge areas were not only comfortable, but inviting. The staff was helpful and approachable and always made time for you. The dining room was comfortable and our waiter always tried to accommodate our needs, however, after meeting with the chef at the beginning of the cruise, there always seemed to be a disconnect between our waiter and the kitchen as to my dietary needs (lactose intolerant). I think better training of the wait staff on various dietary needs might be in order.
